Surprise Visit
Eli had a few weeks off work and found out, on the sly, that his sister's band was stuck in L.A. Of course, it was because of the other crazy ginger in the band. It did mean Hexed was stuck in L.A. and the tour hadn't started yet. Devon was the one that gave him the address of the apartments where the musicians were staying while Rekker's incident was sorted out. Eli knew 'incident' meant the ginger had a glorious loss of temper control. While he liked Rekker, he also treated him like a wild animal. The man was likely to bite.
Of course, he pulled up in the lot without warning his sister he was coming at all. Driving did leave him exhausted and he's as eager to see Dee as he is to get a good night of rest. Sleeping in his car the night before didn't put him in the best mood but it's been way too long since he saw his big sister. Both of their busy lives kept them apart for far too long.
He didn't see Dee but he was excited to see Rekker, oblivious, getting something out of the trunk of his car. Eli couldn't resist sneaking out of his car and coming up to slap the ginger hard on the ass. He knew to step back and dodge the Brit after years of harassing him. Rekker rolled his eyes and let our a breath when he saw who it was. Surprised it wasn't Bjorn but also not surprised to see Dee's little brother standing there.
"Come on!" Eli jested. "You're getting older but not uglier."
Rekker let out another breath as he slung the bag on his shoulder and closed the trunk. "Fucking stop."
The younger man leaned into the Brit giggling. "Do you got another blonde that keeps you on a leash?"
"I'm not on anyone's damned leash." Rekker started walking toward the apartment building with Eli catching up easily.
"You're so grouchy. I know you've got someone." Eli put his palm on the door so Rekker couldn't open it. "Or are you like this because you haven't had anyone to suck the bastard out of you lately?"
Rekker yanked the door open. "He'll kick your fucking ass for saying shit like that."
Eli was about to say something, paused while processing what Rekker said, then started to cackle with laughter. "Did Devon and I finally get to you?"
"No." Rekker snapped as he headed for the elevator.
"You know you like us." Eli blossomed into a huge, teasing grin.
"It's not my fault if you get slapped in the face talking like this." Rekker could only imagine Bjorn's reaction as he stepped into the elevator, Eli following and standing way too close for comfort.
"You don't scare me, you devil." Eli winked at him and Rekker wondered what he did to deserve this. He was carrying too much to stop the arm snaking around his waist and Eli leaning into his bicep. Rekker wasn't one to pray but he was praying as the elevator came to a stop and the door started to open. He prayed to everything in the universe that someone other than Bjorn, anyone other than Bjorn was standing in the hallway.

He couldn't help giving Bjorn an incredibly jealous and not quite happy look. Though, loud, blonde, thin, high, and young certainly fit Rekker's usual trash. Eli glanced between the two he had been talking to and then back at Bjorn and he felt a swell of heartache and a hint of anger. He couldn't help it and wasn't very good at hiding it in his expression even if he kept his tone mostly peaceful when he spoke.
"Dee's brother, Eli." He doesn't really want to talk to Bjorn but realizes he has to when he felt like he'd rather just walk away.
no subject
"Dee's brother? I didn't even know she had one. Nice to meet you, honey. I'm Bjorn and I'm singer for Blixt, fuck yeah!"
Loud and obnoxious indeed. Did this guy always act the surly bitchy type? Bjorn could sense something was off just in the way he was looking at him.
"Do you like glitter?"
no subject
"It's better for me to not have people showing up at my house." That had happened when their parents were still alive and Hexed was just starting. Dee learned to safe guard her family but he was sure that some of them, or at least her boyfriend probably knew he existed.
"I don't care about glitter." Eli was getting more tense by the moment and crossed his arms. He's having a hard time holding back the body language that says he doesn't really like Bjorn but it's not so much Bjorn's personality as much as the emotions Eli is feeling. He just learned that Rekker was, in theory, picking someone specific and erasing all possibility of doing anything with his crush.
no subject
"I fucking love it, babe. Me and Joe got shot with a glitter cannon from Aarne and Rik. Fucking hilarious!"
Hans now standing back from his brother due to the fact that Bjorn was hemorrhaging glitter everywhere.
"You want to come and have a drink with us? It'll help cheer you up."
Ragnar just staring a little because he didn't know how Eli would act.
no subject
The question though got a scowl and Eli snapped. He couldn't help it because he was still in an emotional tide over everything he had learned. "I'd rather get hit by a fucking car than have a drink with you."
He tried to rein in his mood but he couldn't, even when he rationally knew Bjorn had done nothing wrong. "My mood is your fault."
Even if it was surly, the answer was honest. Bjorn was causing his less than cheerful mood.
no subject
"What? Fuck, babe! What's got your balls in a fucking knot?"
Bjorn instantly became fucked off with this guy's attitude because he'd only just met and was acting like the singer was his worst enemy. What the fuck? Hans was equally as confused but just figured the guy was tired or irritated about something. That or he really hated glitter or glam guys. Still, it didn't mean he had to snap at Bjorn this way.
"My brother is a loud mouth but he means no wrong."
Hans trying to keep the peace. Bjorn wasn't having any of it. Fuck this bitch!
"How the fuck is your bad mood my fault? That's total bullshit."
no subject
"You don't know shit. Stay out of it." The older man getting angrier in a hurry especially when Bjorn turned nasty too. Eli is about to start an actual fight.
"Get the hell out of my way." Eli wants to get away from Bjorn before he busts his mouth. He doesn't need to piss Rekker off by punching his partner. However, Eli's eyes catch the ring on Bjorn's finger and he can't hold it in. He moves to give Bjorn a shove.
"Dumb fuck!...." Eli paused because the words got stuck between the emotions and fury. "... That fucking rock on your finger means other people got tossed into the cold, asshole."
Eli is feeling so angry he wants to get physical and doesn't exactly care who it is with. He just wants to punch someone in the face.
no subject
"Fuck you! Don't talk to me this way! You arrive and pick on me because of what? My ring? What the?---"
It took Bjorn a few moments to try and figure out what was going on with this guy. This American boy---was he one of Rekker's past lovers? But he only slept with girls. Ragnar gasped at the anger in Eli's voice. This wasn't good at all.
"What about my ring? It's nothing to do with you---Rekker loves me and I'm engaged!"
Bjorn felt the shove and instantly went to shove Eli back. Hans felt the need to step in at this point before it escalated even more. Holding Bjorn back on the shoulder firmly.
"How about we all calm down?"
no subject
Eli made a grab to get ahold of Bjorn's hair or shirt. He's escalating. He's seeing too much red mentally to register much other than his heartache and jealousy. "You're a stupid fuck if you think getting engaged doesn't do anything to anyone else."
Eli's hurting and the rage is still there in his voice but the hurt is starting to show in it too. It doesn't stop him from turning on Hans. "How about you stay the fuck out of this before I bust your mouth?"
no subject
Bjorn was so fucking angry at this guy just coming out of the blue to pick on him because he was wearing a ring from Rekker. Ex or not, this was no way to behave! The guy's attitude stank. Hans sighed and pinched his nose. Maybe taking Bjorn away from this guy might help because things were getting worse by the moment.
"Bjorn? How about we leave Eli and his friend Ragnar and take a walk?"
He had to try something. Eli's threat about punching his nose ignored for now because he didn't want to fight anyone. Bjorn huffed and just scowled at the American. He didn't like being picked on and his ring was special to him.
"You touch my brother and I fuck you over, bitch!"
Hans groaned. No, Bjorn. Back off.
no subject
He wasn't going to let this glittery bastard tell him what to do. "I'll do whatever the fuck I want."
Dee had heard the yelling, ignoring it at first until she recognized the voice, or more the attitude in it and the accent. She came out of the room at the far end of the hall to see what looked like Bjorn and Eli arguing. Of course they were and she didn't need anyone to tell her what it was about.
"Eli." Dee doesn't care if the two men are fighting and gives her brother a gentle push back toward the elevator. "GO on. Go cool off. You're being a punk."
He might not listen to Hans but his sister drains the anger out of him and it just leaves the heartache. Dee knows what it is about and glances at Bjorn before turning back to her brother. "Go to our old place and I'll come see you as soon as I'm dressed."
Eli was about to protest but then just walked away. He felt like he was going to cry and didn't want to embarrass himself. Once that one was defused she turned back to Bjorn with a soft, apologetic look and ready to help on this end too.
no subject
"Get off me! He fucking insulted me and!---"
Hans held onto his brother firmly as he heard Dee's voice from behind them all. Oh gods. This had not been a good start for Eli and Bjorn was obviously angry and hurt. Just seeing Eli walk away offered Hans a moment of relief but he did feel sorry for the man. It was obvious that he still harboured feelings for Rekker that were unrequited. That and seeing Bjorn wearing the ring. It must be hard.
"That fucking piece of---"
Hans frowned.
"Shh, Bjorn. That's enough. He's having a hard time, can't you see? Your ring---his anger. He's jealous of you and Rekker. Just calm down."
Hans pulling Bjorn in for a hug which caused the singer to huff then shove his brother off slightly. The singer's emotions were all over the place and he felt upset, now sniffing slightly. The fuckhead had insulted him and----and---did that mean he loved Rekker? But he couldn't! Rekker was his ginger bastard and this fuckhead had no right to come onto the tour to love him. Bjorn just broke down crying.
Hans, the older brother patting Bjorn on the back.
no subject
She could only shake her head and glance at her brother disappearing down the emergency stairwell. He probably couldn't handle waiting for the elevator. The crying drew her attention back to Bjorn and came over to help Hans while hoping her brother would be ok for a bit. He was too irrational at the moment and needed to cool off. His temper rarely came out but he didn't react well when it did.
"I didn't have a chance to tell him." Dee mentions to both of them quietly. "He's been... He probably doesn't know where he belongs now. He's been close to Rekker for years but he's not..." She started to smile a little. "He's a bit like you, honestly."
It was true. More emotion than common sense some times and easily provoked at times. She reached out and pushed Bjorn's hair out of his face because she would comfort him too, if he needed it.
no subject
"He---he insulted me when I only asked him for a drink and----he said stuff about my ring and----"
The singer just sniffed and didn't want to say any more about it. Hans nodded at Dee and then noticed Ragnar now wandering off to follow Eli, hoping to try and calm the man probably.
"He can't fucking love Rekker because I do! Why can't he---find someone else?"
Bjorn just looked at Dee with confused eyes.
no subject
Dee offered Bjorn a one armed hug. "Rekker loves you and I'm sure Eli will sort himself out with some time to think."
Eli hadn't glanced back at all and was heading straight across the parking lot to his car. He should have never came out here. He should have known better. He got into his car and didn't even close the door. He just slumped there in the seat trying to get control of what he was thinking and feeling.
no subject
Bjorn just sighed and pressed his face into his brother's chest because he was emotionally drained and coming down from his high earlier. The glitter cannon had been fun with Joe but meeting Eli had caused the singer to get riled up. Hans hoped the American would be alright after his confrontation with Bjorn.
"Will Eli be alright? I saw him heading downstairs with Ragnar in tow."
Hans did wonder as Ragnar was now walking fast to try and keep up with the American. He was now in the parking lot and inside his car. The Swede eager to keep up and keep close to him. Goodness! Too much emotion. He slowly approached the car and gently knocked on the window.
no subject
Dee sighed. "I don't know." She couldn't be sure. "He needs to cool off. He's too upset for anything constructive."
Downstairs, Eli looked up at the Swede knocking on the passenger door. He motioned for him to get in if he wanted. The American wasn't sure what to do with himself for the moment but maybe a drive would do him good. Maybe his sister was right?
no subject
"Eli? Are you alright, darling?"
The Swede sitting in the passenger seat closing the door behind him hoping the boy would be alright.
no subject
"Fuck this." He started the car up. "Do you drink?"
The question isn't much of one since he is already pulling out of the parking space. He's ready to go on a three day drinking bender at this point.
no subject
"I do drink, yes. Red wine is my usual poison but I'm easy when it comes to booze."
Should the boy be drinking whilst driving a car? Probably not but what could Ragnar do about that now? He was being kidnapped almost which sent a thrill along his spine.
no subject
He wasn't normally like this but he wanted to numb himself. Booze was the fastest and probably safest way to do it in Eli's mind.
no subject
"I'm good at looking after drunks. My brother is one."
Ragnar knew he too might become wasted so wondered how they would get back to the hotel. Maybe a night in the car and a drive in the morning? Whatever the case, Ragnar would look after Eli.
no subject
"Dama." Eli was half talking to himself as he turned out of the lot and headed for the fashion district of LA. It was an upscale place and he could definitely see Ragnar in the fashion district. Eli, for the most part, didn't care where the hell they drank.
no subject
The Swede just frowned a little but understood the man's frustrations so decided not to say anymore on the matter. He didn't want to irritate Eli but try and calm the American down.
"Dama? Is that where we are going?"
The Swede had been to a few bars and clubs since arriving but didn't know the area at all well.
no subject
"Last time I was here it was the best wine bar in the county."
And he liked the semi-private back patio seating where plants and garden walls kept patrons from seeing each other. Eli wanted to be alone, sort of, and this made it a perfect choice.
